The form above is for health plans. If you also need one of the types below, say so on the call and you will not have to talk to five different people.

Term, whole and universal life policies.

Dental

Preventive and restorative dental coverage.

Vision

Eye exams, glasses and contacts.

Group health

Small business plans for you and your team.

Prescription assistance

Programs that can lower the cost of medications.

Supplemental

Hospital indemnity and critical illness coverage.

Plan levels

How plan levels work

Every Marketplace plan falls into one of four levels. The level says how costs are shared between you and the insurance company, not how good the doctors are.

Bronze
pays about 60% of costs

Lowest monthly price, highest costs when you actually use care. It suits people who rarely need a doctor and mainly want protection from a very large bill.

Silver
pays about 70% of costs

A middle price. This is the one plan level where extra help with deductibles and copays can apply, depending on your income.

Gold
pays about 80% of costs

Higher monthly price, lower costs at the doctor and the pharmacy. Often worth a look if you see doctors regularly or take ongoing prescriptions.

Platinum
pays about 90% of costs

The highest price and the lowest costs when you use care. It is not offered in every area.

Percentages are averages across all members of a plan. Catastrophic plans also exist for people under 30 or with a hardship exemption.

The process

Three steps to the right coverage

01

Tell us a little

Pick your state, then add your ZIP code, household, income and how to reach you. About two minutes.

02

See plans right away

Plans scaled to your income, age and household, so you know what to expect.

03

Your advisor calls you as soon as possible

We go through real plans together, check your doctors and medications, and you decide. No pressure.

Consumer protection

Always verify your advisor's license

Anyone who sells or advises on insurance must be licensed in your state. Every licensed agent has a National Producer Number (NPN), a public record you can look up yourself.

  • Ask for their NPN and look it up at nipr.com before you share more details.
  • Check that the license is active and covers your state and the type of coverage you want.
  • A licensed agent will share this freely. Any hesitation is a red flag.
Common questions

Frequently asked

Is this HealthCare.gov?

No. This site is run by an independent licensed insurance agent. You can always apply directly at HealthCare.gov instead. I can also help you do it there.

What does it cost to work with you?

Nothing. Insurance companies pay agents, and Marketplace plans cost the same whether or not you use an agent.

Can I get help paying for health insurance?

Many people qualify for premium tax credits that lower the monthly price of a Marketplace plan, and some also qualify for lower deductibles and copays on Silver plans. It depends on your income and household size, and the rules change from year to year, so I check what applies to you on the call.

Will you sell my information?

No. What you enter here goes to your advisor so we can help you. It is not sold or shared with other lead companies. If you choose to enroll, it goes to the insurance company and the Marketplace, because they need it to enroll you.

Why do you ask for income and date of birth?

Premiums depend on age, and your income decides how much help you may get paying them each month. Without both, any price I showed you would be a guess.

What if I have a pre-existing condition?

ACA Marketplace plans cannot turn you down or charge you more because of your health or a pre-existing condition. Some other kinds of coverage, such as short term plans, can work differently, and I will tell you the difference.

Can I sign up at any time?

Marketplace plans have a yearly open enrollment period. Outside it you generally need a qualifying life event, such as losing other coverage, moving, getting married or having a baby. Tell me your situation and I will tell you which dates apply.

I am 65 or older. Can you still help?

At 65 you may qualify for Medicare, which works differently from Marketplace plans. Tell me your situation on the call and we will go over your options.

How do I check that an advisor is licensed?

Ask for their National Producer Number (NPN) and look it up at nipr.com. Every licensed agent has one and should share it freely.

Do I have to buy something?

No. You can look at the plans, ask questions, and walk away.

What if I don't want calls?

Tell me and I will stop. You can say so on a call, or reply STOP to any text.
